Oscar and Nathan Main purpose of their trip was to find out where their ancestor where thousands of years ago so they meet up with a man to do a DNA test to find who their ancestors where. After they set off on the takitimu waka to Mahia to meet up with Nathan’s mom and dad to show them who they were descendents of.Nathan’s Mom was from East Eurasia and America and his dad was a descendent of maui.
Not long after they took off again to cook island and that was when they found out that the Takitimu first left cook island 700 years ago and when they were walking around they found the monument spot where it first took off then they go to the village and saw people listening to music i’ve never heard before, people dancing to it, and their languages was different, then they go into a mother’s home and started asking them question and after they go to church with Oscars Family and relatives
Now their heading off to Samoa because Oscars DNA told them that he was from Samoa so it was a good idea to go.When they got to Samoa, another different kind of music was playing and sooner they went to the cemetery were Oscars dad died when Oscar was 3 years old and that was when he moved to NZ, so it's been 18 years since Oscar came to Samoa.Oscar went to his mom to open the DNA mail and it said, that his mother was a descendent of Ina which was in East Eurasia and his father was a descendent of South Eurasia in the Himalayas.
They took off again to Vanuatu and honestly, it’s like their on an adventure like first they where in NZ then they travelled to Mahia then Rarotonga and after they went to Samoa and now they are in Vanuatu and if u look at a map They went around like a circle.And Vanuatu is where lapita pottery is made and can be found.After they went to a archaeologist dig were Oscar saw a real skeleton and got to hold a rock with pictures carved into it.But poor Nathan he was sick so he had to stay inside a house looking at the ceiling while Oscar got to look around Vanuatu.
And their final destination is Taiwan were they meet a woman called Hina. They go with her to a museum where she showed them photos of indigenous people of Taiwan.
Their language of Taiwanese isn’t too different to Polynesian. After they go to Hina's village and after talking with Hina’s people, they eat rats meat which looks disgusting.After they go see carved wood art.
